Different Doesn’t Mean Wrong

It just means different.

DIFFERENT doesn’t mean WRONG.

It just means different.

Person “A” thinks life is hard and scary; person “B” thinks life is a fun adventure. A thinks we should help those on welfare; B thinks we should hold them accountable. A thinks the Cubs are the best team; B thinks the White Sox. If someone is right does that mean that someone has to be wrong?

The truth is we need both points of view and neither one has to be WRONG in order for another to be RIGHT.

This is where we run into trouble. We make the mistake of thinking that for you to be right, then must be wrong.

No doubt about it, there is a clear right and wrong on many topics like murder, racism, stealing, lying. We get that.

“People are different. From our fingerprints to our emotional makeup to our experiences growing up, we are each unique creations of God.

Because we are each unique, we think differently. We talk differently. We react differently. We are different!

But here comes the hard part: JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS DIFFERENT DOESN’T MAKE THEM WRONG.”

We need to find places where our lives, interests, experiences, beliefs intersect. We just might discover that we’re more alike than different. We can honor, respect and hold sacred the choices and beliefs of people that may be different from us in some way.

Different doesn’t mean wrong. It just means different.
